The 'Power of Five' Special Membership Offers for 2010

fivers

The Trust can now confirm all the details of our new special membership deals for 2010. We are making these special offers during the year in celebration of our 5th Anniversary and they all have a ‘Power of Five’ theme.

Yes for just a fiver (normally £10) all adults can join the Trust for a year at the reduced rate with Children under 16 and Senior Citizens (60 and over) also offered free membership.

If you are already a member then don’t worry because whenever your renewal date is due during 2010 you will be able to take advantage of this special offer.

There will also be a special deal for those who would like to join as a Life Member. This normally costs £150 for Adults and £75 for Senior Citizens but in 2010 you can become a Life Member for just £55 which will be reduced further to £25 if you are aged 60 years or over. (Please note Life Membership is not offered to Children aged under 16).

In the last five years we have been building a great relationship with the Club and have now gone into official partnership with them.

We can now represent Clarets fans on any issues that they may have concerns about and we can raise these with the Club at our regular Partnership Liaison meetings at Turf Moor every month. We have already discussed disabled facilities, ticketing arrangements in the Premier League and the Chairman’s Season Ticket Pledge plus a whole lot more!

The Trust is also involved with a number of community projects and we organize a number of social events. Our most recent was an ‘In the Chair’ evening involving a Question & Answer session with Barry Kilby. Members will also receive a regular newsletter every quarter telling you about our achievements and forthcoming events.

If you would like to take up one of our new special offers and join Clarets Trust then please contact us by emailing to This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it or phoning Steve on 01483 419329.

All the offers above are effective from 1st January 2010

Peter Pike Comments on the Recent Managerial Changes at Burnley FC

Trust chairman, Peter Pike provides his thoughts below on the recent managerial changes at the club

A Message from Clarets Trust Chairman, Peter Pike

Peter Pike

When I wrote my New Year Message I was not expecting such a dramatic or traumatic start to 2010 for Burnley Football Club as that which so quickly unfolded.  Clearly we are all disappointed that Owen Coyle chose to leave the Club and take his backroom team with him.  It was particularly sad to see Steve Davis also choose to go as he really did seem to be a Clarets stalwart.

Owen did help to deliver that Dream to us all of Premier League football but as he said himself the even bigger challenge was the fight to retain that status this year.  During his time at Burnley he always set a higher standard and it is by that standard that his departure has been judged.  He has clearly let the Club down, the fans down but even more he has let himself down; a fact by which he will now always be judged.

Barry Kilby and the Club clearly fought very hard to keep Owen at Turf Moor and we thank him for that and know that he will be disappointed that it was a battle he was not to win.

At the end the Club is bigger than any individual and things have to move on.  Choosing a Manager is never easy but that decision has been made and we know it has been done with the best interests of the Clarets being uppermost.

The Clarets Trust give our 100% backing to Barry Kilby, Brian Laws and Burnley FC at this time.  We know the fight will not be an easy one but we know we are playing to win, playing good football and fighting all the way to ensure we retain our position in the Premier League.  It really the time for all of us as Clarets fans to give that support now and every week home and away.

Come on the Clarets!
